Poetry by Wisława Szymborska and Benjamin Gucciardi. The Spanish word "desahogar" and other untranslatables. Umberto Eco and the notebook I keep because I don't want to die.
Your beautifully written posts always give me much to ponder. How coincidental that for the past week I have realized that I hold my breath when I am overwhelmed or stressed and have tried to be aware to breathe more deeply and fully!
As always, thank you so much. I wrote this a bit quickly. I may smooth it out a bit later before I send a post to promote it on Notes and other places. I hope you are well… and have no need to undrown yourself for a while!
I think Milosz was projecting a little. His poetry is grimmer than Szymborska. Glad to have discovered your wonderful Substack
I am so glad to have you here too. I have several posts that speak a bit more to who I am and my take on arts and culture.
Zina,
This is wonderful! Thank you for these great untranslatable explorations.
I’m glad to have found your Substack, Zina, this is thoughtful and beautiful!
Thank you so much, Anna! Glad you found my Substack too. ❤️
Thank you Zina. I love your posts so much. This one in particular gave me much to pull apart and think over. :)
Thank you so much, Patricia. I am so glad you liked this.

This was incredibly meaningful to me. Good luck with your graduate studies😜
Thank you so much, Ann!
