I like your summarizing couplet. There's no way to capture the complexity of course, but I think that's introducing the major theme that develops over the sequence.
Have you read Malcolm Guite's David's Crown? In a sense it's a similar project and equally he often has to choose to focus on one theme or image out of many possible ones. I think the act of choosing which theme to star in your couplets is an interesting part of the project.
Thank you so much! I am re-writing my sonnet #3 couplet right now. Do you write sonnets? I love sonneteers... and generally any poet that dabbles in form. (I have nothing against free versers. They are cool too.)
I don't write sonnets, but I love Shakespeare. I DID write a poem some years back. It was a novel in ballad form. (214 pages long.) I self-published it in the late 70's...79? I READ my stories out on line now. I write novellas and novelettes. I enjoy the reading out part now. They're all FREE and always will be, because I think the stories are the most important part of my 'Stack. The PAID stuff is just there for the few who PAID from the beginning. But reading out SHAKESPEARE? That's ballsy! I was thinking I'd try reading a few poems once in a while, and I still might. "IF" by Kipling is a good one.

I’ve never read David’s Crown. I definitely want to look it up. Thank you so much for your encouragement!
Amazing. I'm subscribing right now. I was thinking of reading sonnets out, but decided to read my own stuff instead.

You stuck the landing 👏🏽
You are so kind, Marcos! ❤️😂 I got a lot of sonnets to go. Working on the summary couplet for number three now…
