My four minutes in the library (I'm thinking it's the same one as you visited?) would start at the new books section, from the mid 700's to the mid 800s (art, music, sports, entertainment, literary criticism, poetry), followed by a quick jaunt to the Friends Book Sale, where I inevitably find something to take home while adding a dollar to two to the library's coffers.
By the by, I read and enjoyed "God, Human, Animal, Machine," and wonder if you are familiar with another fairly recent book that, while very different, grapples with some of the same issues: "This Life: Secular Faith and Spiritual Freedom," by Martin Hagglund. Check it out when you have another four minutes of library time.
I was thinking of the books I would grab for comfort if the library was closing - as many Mary Oliver books as I could, a romance novel or two, and Meeting the Shadow, Ed. by Connie Zweig. This was interesting!

I don’t think I could accomplish as much in 4 minutes as you did.
Also our library only has one floor so I am a bit jealous.
I would probably grab a Colleen Hoover or two though
Maybe Nancy Drew? Just kidding, but nothing as intellectual as your choices!

Never heard of Connie Zweig. Will check Meeting the Shadow out!
